"This is an exciting time to be a part of OSA’s Olympic Development Program", was the running theme in our convesation with the Ohio Soccer Association regarding their annual campaign for player development and identification.

Ohio is a part of USYSA's ODP Midwest Region. Nationally the program is described as a platform to identify players at the highest level of the game as a vehicle for successful US National Teams. "Across the state, ODP is committed to providing open access to youth soccer players." Bill Glaze, Chief Technical officer shared with us that "ODP is a program that has over ti

me, demonstrated success in helping players grow and develop."

"It’s important that our players and their families, as well as their clubs, recognize that ODP serve as partners in providing opportunities for players to learn and grow."

The mission of OSA's ODP Program is to help players grow and develop by providing additional training and playing opportunities with and against, similarly motivated players while under the direction of licensed coaches. They do this in a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.

Bill also shared that "As part of OSA’s ODP Player Pathway, identified players have an opportunity to progress from the District level to the State level and beyond. This year takes on special meaning because for the first-time players will be asked to represent the entire state of Ohio. This could be as part of an ODP State Team competing at the ODP Sub-Regional, or as an individual representing Ohio at the ODP Midwest ID Camp or at the National Interregional competition."
